Sedation Dentistry

Home » Sedation Dentistry

Sedation dentistry is when dental care is practiced on customers who have been sedated. This type of treatment is used for nervous customers suffering from dental anxiety.

Levels of sedation can include:

minimal sedation (you are awake, but relaxed)

  1. – moderate sedation (you are awake but may slur your words and have slight memory loss)
  2. – deep sedation (you are on the edge of consciousness but can still be woken)
  3. – general anaesthesia (you are unconscious)

Sedatives are generally provided in the form of a local anaesthetic that numbs the immediate area to help ensure you’re comfortable during treatment.
